Yup, that's what I've been doing today - amongst other things, like trying to get the antique petrol lawnmower going, (it did in the end!) doing loads of washing, cuddling various cats, preparing seed beds.... However did I manage to work full-time! I much prefer my life now, although there is still the problem of the Big Bills, hmmmm. I have had a brilliant idea, though, and I'll be telling you all about it soon; it doesn't involve hot dogs and obtaining expensive council permits, it's pretty brill I think! The latest cooler than cool thing I've acquired on Freecycle is a 1960's Blacks of Greenock canvas tent. Wow! Do any of you know what a real canvas tent smells like? It is intoxicating. I shall put it up and sit in it and sniff it, and be surrounded by memories of Guide Camp, gadget-making and singing around the campfire.....

Oh yes, I do know know that smell. We have an ancient tent that my husband refuses to exchange for a new one. I repaired it many years ago when it was old THEN. You can't do that anymore with the new ones can you? By the way I hate camping so it's not a problem really!x
Haha! Camping's not for everyone, is it Jessie! personally, I love it, especially if I can fiddle with all my retro gadegts (which often fall apart!) I usually end up playing with it all on the lawn, having a cup of tea inside the tent, then packing it all away again!!
Oh yes,I remember that smell. Brings back memories of Guide camping on the Isle of Wight back in the early 80's. Don't you go getting too intoxicated in there now Liz!!
Ha ha ha
Sounds like you're having a great time! It's still too cool to do much gardening here (and now it's been raining for the last 12 hours so it's way too wet). As soon as it's dry enough, it'll be time for me to mow for the first time this season. You mentioned that you worked full time...as in paid work?? Did you hear back from your agent?
Oh, I too love the smell of the canvas tent. It bring back many fond memories. What the heck is brill. I've heard of brill cream which old men apply to their hair.
I'm sure it's good and can hardly wait to see what falls from your brilliant head.
My life sounds a bit like yours in regard to your daily round. I wouldn't change it even though I whine periodically.
Haha @ Ronnie! 'Brill' is short for Brilliant! Or Brilliantisimo (which isn't Italian, but sounds like it is!)
Paula, yeah I was a Project Development Worker for a charity working with people with additional needs....I could buy anything I wanted in those days! The agent has never contacted me! It's seriously weird and they don't answer my email. I don't understand it in any way, it's such a puzzle - but I'm too weedy to ring them:( I'm such a wimp!
