Toys in a Basket, and still waiting....

I've been working on a few images for stationary and greetings cards this week. It's strange really, as I am still waiting for a break - I thought it was so wonderful and exciting to sign up with the agent; then there was the Spring Fair at the NEC; now the agent is going to the USA at the end of Feb .....when, oh when will someone buy some of my work? Maybe never. If i was in my 20's, would this be any easier? I find my lack of income enormously stressful, but in all honesty, worse than that is the fact I may be just not good enough to get 'proper' illustration work. Sorry to be so negative - maybe I will get one of these part-time jobs and that will ease the financial situation, at least. Meanwhile, just keep plodding on eh?! Git them pencils oot girlie an' stop whining!

Keep at it. I know you have the talent to make some money from this.

Don't give up Liz. If anyone looks closely at your work they'd see how much work has gone into every illustration. And you just keep turning them out! That's got to count for something.

Hi Liz. Awww, what sweet pictures! and i recognize a lot of the toys from your header picture. Don't give up...this is always the hard part of being an artist, just because the right opportunity hasn't happened yet doesn't say anything about the quality of your work! I sure hope some sort of work will come through though so that you don't have to worry so much about money.

just think, once you find a publisher, it will be the RIGHT one...the one in which you'll have a very important relationship that will change people's lives through your work. if it takes some time to get there...well...at least it have been worth the wait.

We all whine sometimes just to release the steam in the old pressure cooker. Your pressure valve is under a bit of strain lately.
I've been looking at your work several minutes and over at the etsy shop. I think she may have something there about the busy on the cards, but only on the strip ones. The strips as cards are a bit overwhelming. On the otherhand this latest round is perfection along with the Christmas group. Hang in there Liz. THEY will find you.
