Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane? No, it's Superbun! (Who is also good at maths!)

I am applying for a post to work as a comic strip artist with some students at a secondary school in Birmingham. The brief is to work with them to devise creative ideas to engage younger students in areas of English and Maths, where they struggle. I thought the concept of Fluffville could be ideal for this, and have produced these examples to send with my CV. Here's hoping that they like my idea, and it may get me short-listed!

well I wish I had someone like you at school and maybe I would have got more than a CSE grade 5 in maths!! LOL

Karmen is not keen the snow and would much rather be curled up in her box - she ventured out sniffed the air and came running back in!!

Oh what a fabulous idea, Liz! Poor Tiddles crying is me trying to learn fractions...and instead of cupcakes i got yelled at, 'cause i was "smart" and should have been able to figure out how to do them. That sounds like a really fun position working with the kids to develop learning aids for the younger students!

Morning Girls!
Thanks for your encouraging coments! Hey Judith, you and I both got CSE Grade 5, isn't that the lowest possible grade, ha ha ha ha! QC, yes, I was quite clever, but maths completely eluded me! The position does sound fabulous, but I think they will probably go for a mangra-type of iluustrator, rather than fuffy little tigers and rabbits - but I can only try!
Snow here this morning, woohoo!

Great idea Liz, my kids would have loved strips like this in their maths books, and so would I!
All the best as always with your endeavours to get Fluffville OUT THERE!!

What a lovely little comic!! Your style is so wonderful! I am really bad at math, trying to get through it though in University...scary.
I think you will no doubt be a huge influence on how the kids learn their critical skills.

Hi!
It's trying to snow here but nothing other than a few flakes. Rather dissapointing really. My husband (a teacher) and the teenagers haven't had a snow day off school for a while and were kind of hoping for one.

Liz! Another great idea. My sis is the Math expert for younger grades in our County school system. She is very creative and runs workshops that help teachers teach math in a fun way. Let me know if she might be of help with expanding on this idea.

You deserve that post! That's such an original idea, they'd be mad not to shortlist you at least. Good luck with it and I might see you at the NEC except I don't know what you look like so I might not know it's you! :Dx

Hey Liz, pop over to the Ugly Rabbit, you've got an award! Sorry it's not cash or a contract!
